What does it take to be a volunteer at Paignton Regatta?
Do you need to be an old sea dog to make the grade?
Definitely not! All you need is some spare time, enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in for a worthy cause.
We spend nine days making Regatta a success but that can only happen if we have enough people to do it.
We're looking for anyone who might be interested in:
-
Helping us with our charity collection on Firework night, in support of the RNLI
-
Fire Marshalling - to patrol the firework exclusion zone (no prior training needed)
-
Helping to set up road closures for the fireworks (no prior training needed)
-
Marshalling of people and vehicles on and off the green
-
Baking cakes for sale at Regatta
-
Manning one of our charity stalls
-
Helping to set up regatta each day (8am to 10am)
-
Helping to secure the green at the end of each day (6pm to 7pm or 10pm to 11pm each day)
-
Being on the green to signpost people to our events
-
Handing out our programmes or having a stock in your shop or business
-
Taking up a position on the committee
Any time you can spare, however small, would be a massive help for us.
If you want some more information, please contact our committee President - Ken, on 01803 525573.
Or, just turn up on the green during the week and speak to one of the volunteers. You can't miss them - they will be the ones wearing the bright yellow tops!
