"For the Community, By the Community, Supporting the Community"

Karen Gidley | Regatta Chairman
Paignton Regatta Community Fun Week

Welcome to our website! My name is Ken Robertson and I am the chairman of Paignton Regatta Community Fun Week.

Paignton Regatta has been running for over 170 years. Since the move of the sailing events to a combined Torbay Regatta, the focus of the event has been on fun and games on Paignton Green.

The regatta provides nine days of free entertainment, with a focus on families. Our event is enjoyed by local residents and holidaymakers alike, supporting our community and local businesses who benefit from the tourist trade.

The regatta has always supported local and national charities and continues to be a not-for-profit organisation that exists to provide a platform for local charities and organisations to raise money for their causes, as well as raising money from sponsorship, donations and stall traders to ensure the future of our event.

All the events that you enjoy are organised by a small but dedicated volunteer committee of Paigntonians from all walks of life; who work throughout the year to ensure the continued survival and growth of Regatta.

We are always on the lookout for people to volunteer. You don't have to join the committee and any offers of help are gratefully received. We especially need people who have some time during regatta week to help us with the day-to-day running of our event. If you are interested or have any questions, please email us at paigntonregatta@gmail.com

After the success of our evening music sessions in previous years, our stage will be hosting a series of Regatta Rocks events and I'm delighted to announce some fantastic headline tribute acts on the main stage including Take That! & The Bee Gees and Bon Jovi plus live music from great local rock band - Klassika.

Of course, some time-honoured favourites are still on the programme, including the Bay’s biggest firework display. This year's fireworks will be on Friday 10th August at 9:30pm. The fireworks are fully-sponsored by Anderton & Rowlands funfair and is not funded by the Council. Organising the fireworks is a huge undertaking, both in manpower and logistics and it is our our biggest opportunity to fundraise for our event and our chosen local charities/causes. Please bring along any change you can spare on the night and drop it in the collecting buckets carried by our volunteers.

Our jam-packed daytime entertainment programme starts at 10am and finishes at 5:30pm

You can pick up your free programme in shops and holiday parks around Torbay from July and we will have plenty of copies at Regatta HQ on the Green. If you have a programme, you won't miss a thing!

Whichever of our events you attend, I hope you and your whole family will have a super time. Enjoy Regatta and please remember that we rely on your donations to keep going, so remember to put some coins in our collecting buckets !
